"Alice Cottage stands facing the sea, surrounded by pasture, with generous space to the left and to the right: An airy fence is all that stands between you and a golden beach, clean of trash, easy to walk and swim in. Easy to forget everything in.
The beach it stands on is one of the prettiest in southern Jamaica, a convenient 10 min drive south of the other Treasure Beach restaurants and bars. You can find it if you search "17.866175,-77.739749" in google maps. The community surrounding the beach is one of the safest in Jamaica, an intact village where everyone knows everyone and noone locks the doors to their houses.
The house is a impeccably clean, simple cottage with a very nice veranda towards the sea, three spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The house does not have air-conditioning, but we did not find this to be in any way uncomfortable. There is always a gentle breeze around and all bedrooms have mosquito netted windows on two sides for the breeze to enter. The kitchen is large and has everything you could need.
Marsha is around all day but you only notice her when she wants you to or when you are looking for her. She cooks divine Jamaican and international dishes, for instance barbecue lobster and fresh fish (her husband is a fishermen!). Aunt Sally is a local community authority and an can organize drivers to explore nearby waterfalls, mountain hills, the amazing sea-food temple "Little Ochie" and much more. The two of them offer the warm interactions with local Jamaicans that should be part of any trip to this amazing island with its amazing people.
The experience at Allice cottage is a little like the barbecue lobsters: prepared in an unassuming simple way, it boasts incredible natural luxuries. You won't find pool or jacuzzi, but you will find a devine sky over a generous pristine beach, Marshas gentle genuine smiles, her warm care and fresh meals with fresh fruits, walks along the beach and chats with local fishermen, etc."
