Facing
sunset, the long sandy beach you see here is
the largest and most private of any in Treasure
Beach, or for that matter, on the entire South
Coast. Sheltered and protected by Great Pedro
Bluff that rises before you, the waters are
calm and ideal for children.

Profiled dramatically against the
Santa Cruz Mountains, on 2.5 acres of mature gardens
and lawns that gently cascade down to the edge of
the beach, BLUE MARLIN and COQUINA are hidden away -- yet just an 8 minute drive from
Calabash Bay and the center of Treasure Beach. Good
reason they're two of the most favored villas in all
Treasure Beach for the past 30 years. Rent BLUE MARLIN
or COQUINA (or
both together) for a great getaway for 1 to 16 guests.
Couples, friends, larger or multi-family groups are
all perfectly accommodated here. You'll be well-pampered
by a very gracious and welcoming staff who will quickly
help you forget the pace of life you left behind.
And in more than one sense, you might find yourself
traveling back in time...
ESCAPE TO
THE PAST
Over 10 centuries ago, sailing up
from Venezuela, some of Jamaica's earliest peoples,
the Taino, chose this very spot to settle, as evidenced
by the rare collection of carved stones, shells and
artifacts showcased at BLUE MARLIN and COQUINA.
Pirates, the Spanish, the British came too, as evidenced
by a terra cotta urn and a seaward-pointing cannon
on the grounds. Explore well-tended tropical gardens
of cacti, succulents, frangipani, hibiscus -- all
around you is a rich greenness rarely found in these
parts.
Laze away in hammocks under a thatched
trulli hut at oceanside, with nary a care. Stroll
along a beach virtually yours all alone, save for
local fishermen, coming in late in the day with a
bounty of fish and seafood line-caught off the Pedro
Cays. Life changes little here. Which is exactly why
yours might well be altered.
BLUE MARLIN is well-shaded and situated
to catch ocean breezes. Every room has a ceiling or
in-wall fan, a/c available for small additional fee. View the sea and the beach from the verandah
and living room through louvered windows and fold back
doors. The dining room features a three-pedestal Jamaican
antique mahogany table that seats 14 -- plus, a trophy
blue marlin mounted above a showcase of locally-found
shells. There are also two outdoor dining areas, one
under an arbor, for casual lunch or dinner
al fresco or have breakfast under tha almond tree while you check your e-mails (if you feel inclined). Your cook/house manager, Sally is highly-rated
by guests and will pamer you beyond your dreams.
